Quality Control
Hicen makes custom metal letters, 3D letters, laser cut signs, LED lit letters, outdoor store signs and light boxes. We check to packing. We stop every step from raw materials, production, finished goods to packing. We stop common problems like bending, rust, color gap, peeling paint, uneven light, water leak and broken lights. All our signs stay flat, strong, nice and long-lasting outdoors.

Incoming Material QC
All sheets, LED lights, coatings and accessories undergo random incoming inspection to keep inferior materials out of production.
– Metal sheet inspection: Check cold rolled steel, galvanized sheet, stainless steel, aluminum, brass and copper for correct thickness, flat surface, no scratches, rust spots or peeling layers.
– Electrical & LED inspection: Ensure even brightness and no flicker for LED chips; power supplies, wires and seal glue adopt outdoor weather-resistant grade.
– Surface material inspection: Verify batches of outdoor fluorocarbon paint, powder coating and plating raw materials. Separate indoor and outdoor materials to avoid wrong usage.
– Acrylic sheet screening: Pick high-transmittance panels free of impurities and yellowing for even, clear light output.
In-process Quality Control
Check sizes, fonts, spacing and structure at 1:1 scale. Thin strokes get reinforced in advance. Production starts only after full confirmation.
Clean edges free of burrs, smooth curves, dimensional tolerance kept within ±0.5mm.
Upright and neat side frames for 3D letters; full welding without cold joints or pinholes, all welding spots fully polished flat.
Including electroplating, powder coating, and spray painting, brushed, mirror, matte, and antique textures.
Multi-layer primer and topcoat coating. Outdoor items use UV-proof and rain-resistant finish against paint peeling and fading.
Evenly arranged LEDs with no dark spots or bright dots. Bottom sealed with filling glue to meet outdoor waterproof standard.
Protective Packaging
Small metal letters use separate foam wrap against scratch and damage.
All LED signs are fully wrapped with protective film and fitted with corner protectors.
Large-size products are packed with thick cartons and reinforced wooden frames.
Complete packing list and QC checklist are attached for standard shipment.
Our Equipment
We inspect all goods before delivery via standardized, refined production. Offering steady quality and full after-sales, we take custom orders for store signs, corporate logos, outdoor & export projects for trusted cooperation.
FAQ
What incoming inspections do you perform for raw materials to control quality at source?
We conduct sampling inspection for metal, acrylic, LED strips, power supplies, glue and printing ink. Check metal thickness and surface defects; inspect acrylic scratches, impurities and color deviation; test LEDs for dead lamps; verify actual power of drivers; test adhesive stickiness and waterproof performance. Unqualified raw materials are rejected directly.
What regular inspections are arranged during the production process?
Our QC team patrols every production workstation all day long. For metal shell processing, they verify bending size, splicing clearance and welding quality to avoid deformation, big gaps and virtual welding. For painting and electroplating processes, inspectors spot check coating thickness, surface adhesion and unwanted flaws such as paint sagging or peeling off. During LED wiring assembly, they check wire specification and connection tightness. All faulty semi-finished products found on production lines need rework immediately.
Which testing items are included for semi-finished products?
After preliminary assembly, semi-finished signs are powered on temporarily to detect non-lighting parts and abnormal flicker. Workers measure overall outer dimensions and mounting hole spacing to match design drawings. They also check fitting gaps between front panels and metal frames to correct assembly errors ahead of sealing. Items failing inspection are isolated and prevented from flowing into the next working procedure.
How do you conduct aging test on finished signs and why is this test essential?
Every finished sign undergoes a 48-hour continuous power-on aging test before shipment. This burn-in run reveals early LED failures, flickering, or driver faults, so any defect is caught and fixed before delivery — ensuring stable, long-term performance in the field.
How is waterproof inspection done for outdoor customized signs?
What testing standards apply to power supplies to avoid overheating and flickering later?
Each matched power supply works under full-load status for 4 consecutive hours during testing. Technicians track real-time temperature rise and output voltage stability constantly. Products with insufficient actual power, abnormal high temperature or fluctuating voltage will be discarded. Strict power testing effectively avoids circuit burnout and frequent light flicker in later application.
How to inspect acrylic panels and printed graphics?
Full visual inspection is done on acrylic sheets to find surface scratches, edge chipping and internal impurities that affect light transmission. Printed patterns are compared against confirmed color swatches to control color deviation; ink adhesion test is also finished to stop peeling. For outdoor-used printing, extra UV resistance test is added to prevent early fading and bubbling under sunlight.
What complete QC system does your factory follow to guarantee overall product quality?
We implement five-step closed-loop quality control: incoming raw material inspection → online production patrol inspection → semi-finished product sampling inspection → comprehensive finished product inspection covering aging, waterproof, dimension and appearance → final recheck before packing and shipment. Any unqualified product in any link will be stopped for rework, and only fully qualified items can be packaged and delivered to clients.
We ensure reliable quality through certified materials, strict manufacturing standards, and comprehensive product testing.
